The feel of the house is smart, modern, country with plenty of colour in the mix. Owner Hanna and her three energetic boys, stay as often as she can and have introduced delights from far-flung travels. Two double bedrooms have finely dressed beds in feather and down, glorious watery views; one the pool and terrace, one the estuary.

The house is a bright and roomy 1970’s bungalow, recently renovated. It’s colourful, contemporary and theres’s nothing that’s overly precious or delicate, which parents of busy children will well appreciate. It has a large pool which is heated from Easter to end September.

Amongst the large grassy lawns, the kids will find dens, swings and a wooden playhouse.

We love having it as part of our houses to rent out, because of it’s location near bustly, boaty Lymington is a few minutes walk away – or even more fun, walk to the ferry terminal, and catch the train across the harbour bridge and cut off 10 mins walk.

Alternatively, if you love horses you’re in good company with Emma who, until very recently, had 14! She has her own livery, Home Farm, which is a 3 minute drive down the road. If you’re keen to bring your horses with you guests are more than welcome to take advantage of the smart yards, stable and indoor lunging ring. Emma has also shared her top Forest rides and we have a wonderful local guide if you’d like to find your feet.

The house is also just a few minutes walk away from Gypsy Wood – home to 100 or so of the most ancient and extraordinary oak trees in the southern forest.
