Lymington,  Sleeps 8-10 | Swimming pool heated April to end Sept

The feel of the house is smart, modern, country with plenty of colour in the mix. Owner Hanna and her three energetic boys, stay as often as she can and have introduced delights from far-flung travels. Two double bedrooms have finely dressed beds in feather and down, glorious watery views; one the pool and terrace, one the estuary.

You’ll find a large, open plan kitchen dining and sitting room with views over the boat-filled Lymington estuary. It’s a room designed for socialising.

The kitchen has a XXXX gas range cooker. Kitchen table to seat 10.

The two bathrooms are smart, clean. One is accessed from the terrace by the pool for showering and cleaning up muddy kids.

Three bedrooms are big enough for travel cots. You can also fit another cot in the twin bedroom if required. The double with the nicest view is that dressed in pastel pales. The view is over the lawns toward Lymington harbour.

Towards the car port area, there is a smart 4th double bedroom.

The pool is set on a ledge above the house and is fenced on 3 sides with a good sized wall on the other. Below it is a big, flat terrace, perfect for family celebration meals. If it rains, there’s plenty of space for doing the same inside. The kitchen/living area is open-plan is suited for caterers.

Less mobile folk will appreciate the undercover car port right by the house which means they have to walk about 20 metres to their bedroom and the kitchen.

A very short walk away, you can play golf, or fill yourself up with wonderful strawberries at the pick-your-own farm.

A 15 minute walk will take you into Lymington with plenty of ways to spoil, feed and entertain you. Parents no longer have to be teenage-taxi’s…. teenagers can lounge by the pool, or enjoy independence and walk to for the Saltwater Baths to muck about on the 110 metre floating obstacle course (slippery, colourful madness on water) plus zorbs, paddle boards. Or they’ll love escaping to cafe’s for coffee and mooching.

If the pool at home, or the obstacle course isn’t watery enough, take a ferry to the island and walk to Yarmouth beach – lovely with white sand and clear waters, rarely busy.

There is a good BBQ here too.
